About Dr Julie Beavan-Pearson
I am a fully qualified Clinical Psychologist. This means I studied to doctoral level in psychology. Psychologists do not study medicine, and therefore I don't prescribe drugs. Instead I offer what are known as 'talking therapies'.
My training allows me the flexibility to draw on a wide range of psychological theories and practice of therapeutic models. My main therapeutic approaches are Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), 'Third wave' CBT (to include Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness) and EMDR.
I have a wealth of experience in helping adults struggling with a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, work related issues, abuse, psychosis and bi-polar disorder.
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who qualified from The University of Birmingham in 2003. I am registered with both The British Psychological Society (No 096208) and the Health Professional Council (PLY02426).
I offer individual therapy at a competitive rate. I am also registered with all the major private healthcare providers toinclude Bupa, Axa Health and Cigna.
